Rashed M. Alsobeai is a 34 year old pilot in the Saudi Arabian Air Force, who completed his high school studies many years ago.  Rashed recently completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix. He states that it would have been impossible for him to study at another University due to his busy work schedule.  The University of Phoenix provided Rashed with an opportunity to study while he was a member of the Saudi Air force.  He is now a Major and is employed as a Flight Simulator and Ground School Instructor at The Air Force College in Riyadh.Rashed believes that education is the first step in the vital pursuit of knowledge, and that one must always look to improve one’s self.

When asked why he chose University of Phoenix, Rashed listed the strong reputation of the University as well as the accessibility of its online programmes.  “University of Phoenix allowed me to learn more than I would have in a classroom.  It made it possible to connect with fellow students from all over the world.  This helped me understand and learn more about different cultures and backgrounds across the world.” The choice of a Bachelor of Science in Management was made by Rashed because he believes that we will need management skills in all aspects of our lives, no matter where you work.

When not working at the Air Force, Rashed enjoys reading, especially about topics related to personal development and strategic planning.

When asked whom he admires the most, Rashed replied “I admire Steve Jobs, because he was a genius and worked hard to achieve his dreams and never gave up.  He changed the way we live our lives today.”Rashed is a student at University of Phoenix which can be visited at: http://www.phoenix.edu/colleges_divisions/global.html
