  • What does JAWAZ mean?
    JAWAZ means “passport” in Arabic. This card is your passport to a world of opportunities and benefits in DIAC, Dubai and worldwide and if you are carrying it around DIAC, you do not need to carry your passport.
  • Am I eligible for a JAWAZ Card?
    If you are a full time student,  studying  for  both 15 hours a week for a minimum  of 12 weeks per year you are eligible.  You also need to be  enrolled in a DIAC or DKV Institute.
  • Who are Sponsored Students and who are non-sponsored students?
    Sponsored Students are students sponsored by the Authority and non-sponsored students are students whose visa falls under their parents, their work, or their spouse.
  • How long is JAWAZ valid for and do I have to renew it each year?
    JAWAZ is valid for one year only from the date of issue and you are required to renew it as your are enrolled for classes at a DIAC or DKV institute.  
  • When should I cancel my JAWAZ card?
    Only students no longer enrolled in a DIAC or DKV institutes should automatically return their JAWAZ card . Sponsored Students should return their JAWAZ card to their University once they cancel their Visa.
    Non-Sponsored Students should return their JAWAZ card to the Student Hub office, DIAC Block 6.
    Students have no right to obtain the card if they are no longer a student. No refunds are given for cancellation of JAWAZ card
  • What happens if my JAWAZ card is lost or stolen?
    If your JAWAZ Card is lost or stolen you need to:
    • Call  04 360 20 60 to deactivate the card, or contact Student Hub
    • Download the JAWAZ “Cancellation” application form
    • The university should also sign and stamp the “Cancellation” application form and submit it to DIAC Student Hub accompanied with AED 150 per application to issue a replacement card holding the same details and same validity. If you produce a Police report the replacement fee will be waived.

  • What happens if I want to leave the university before the end of the academic year?
    If you choose to leave your university before the end of the Academic Year, you need to cancel your card:
    • Download the JAWAZ “Card Cancellation” application form
    • Fill, print and sign the “Card Cancellation” application form.
    • The university should also sign and stamp the “Card Cancellation” application form and submit it to DIAC Student Hub accompanied with the student card.
  • What is ISIC?
    ISIC stands for International Student Identity Card and it is the only internationally-recognized student ID and ISIC card holders are members of a truly global club. Every year more than 4.5 million students from 120 countries use their ISIC  card to take advantage of benefits and offers on travel, shopping, entertainment, culture  and much more, worldwide.   • Do I have to have JAWAZ? Can I use my Institute ID instead?
    This JAWAZ card is mandatory for all students enrolled in DIAC and DKV Institutes.  One of the major benefits of the JAWAZ Card is that through ISIC it provides you with international student ID and has worldwide recognition. Establishments in other countries often do not recognize foreign school issued IDs, simply because they are not familiar with the schools in foreign countries. The JAWAZ Card will prove to these establishments that you are indeed a student and therefore qualify for their offered discount or benefit.
  • What documents do I need to submit to apply for JAWAZ?
    To apply for JAWAZ, you need to submit:
    • The JAWAZ application form
    • 1x Passport copy
    • 1x Residency copy
    • 1 x Colour photograph with white background.
  • How much does the JAWAZ card cost?
    For sponsored students: The card price is included at the time you apply for your visa and the cost is AED 250.
    For non sponsored students: The card price is AED250 per year.
  • I am a sponsored student; how do I renew my card?
    You will receive a new card while renewing your visa.
  • I am a non sponsored student; how do I renew my card?
    If you are a non sponsored student and you want to renew your card, you need to:
    • Download the JAWAZ  application form
    • Fill, print and sign the JAWAZ application form.
    • The university should also sign and stamp the JAWAZ application form and submit it to DIAC Student Hub accompanied with AED 250 per application.
  • What if I find a lost JAWAZ card?
    If you find a lost JAWAZ ID Card, please call the contact centre at 04 3602060 to report the lost card and turn in the card to Student Hub, DIAC Block #6. You are not supposed to use the JAWAZ card at any point. If found using a card that does not belong to you, strict penalties will be applied.
