Dubai Lynx provides exciting opportunity for University Students in creative communications
The Dubai Lynx Student Competitions has for the last number of years offered full-time university students a chance to showcase their talent and gain industry-wide recognition from local and global industry leaders in the creative communications industry. In 2019, this includes four exciting opportunities to display their unique creative prowess through the Student Creative Competition for Print, the Student Integrated Competition, the MBC Student Youth Award and the MBC Student Hack.
“We are thrilled to launch the 2018/2019 edition of the Student Competitions and also to announce our exciting initiatives with MBC Group.” says Thea Skelton, Festival Director, Dubai Lynx. “Offering the winning students a one month internship at MBC the MBC Youth Award is a fantastic opportunity for young creatives to get first-hand experience of working with an international company and provide a foundation for their future careers. While the Student Hack combines an area of extreme strategic importance for businesses with live creative problem solving and brand building. Each year these competitions have produced some really brilliant ideas and we’re looking forward to this year’s entries.”
Targeted at students studying graphic design, advertising, communications, marketing, media and PR, the competitions challenge participants to respond to briefs set by leading charities or NGOs.
The Dubai Lynx Student Creative Competition for Print asks students to create a creative print campaign for the NGO Al Mayya K9 Adoptions. Entrants to the Dubai Lynx Student Integrated Competition are challenged to create an attention grabbing campaign using three forms of media in response to a brief set by the NGO, SmartLife. Both competitions opened in August and students have until the 16th December 2018 to submit their entries.
Reflecting the innovative spirit of MBC Group, the MBC Student Youth Award sets the challenge of creating and branding an e-sports team for a new MENA league and developing an integrated creative campaign to launch the team. The competition closes on the 3 February 2019 and entries will be judged by a panel of esteemed jury chosen by MBC. A further MBC initiative introduces a live Student Hack at the Dubai Lynx Festival from 10 – 12 March 2019 where students have just 24 hours to create a solution for a Corporate Social Responsibility brief.
Shortlists will be announced in February 2019 and successful applicants will be invited to attend the Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity from 10-12 March 2019. The winners will be announced at a dedicated Student Awards Ceremony on the final day of the Festival at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.
